I don't find this suprising in the least...I also worked at Best Buy, but as a cashier, about 4 years ago. This topic was something frequently addressed in weekly meetings. At the time I worked there, headunits and cds were the most stolen items..management always got on the car audio department to more closely watch their department, but it rarely happened. At the store I worked at, the car audio department was right next to a home audio room. This was a separate room to the side, which was home to all the surround sound speakers and receivers, and expensive tvs. The only problem with this was that there were NO cameras in this room, and somehow the "customers" would figure this out by the separate door to get in/clear visibility to the ceiling with no cameras in sight. They would simply rip the units out of the wall on a slow weekday, and mosey on over into the next room and slip the items in their jackets. (winter was the most popular time for these to disappear) Although I didn't work security, and don't really know the extent of their job...you would think they would notice a huge bulge in a jacket on their way out the door?!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif Don't get me wrong, video games and cds made their way out the door with other items here and there, but at my time there we had the same problem. Although since then, the store I used to work at has remodeled into a much more open store, almost like a studio apartment...
