Well was really irritated by them taking 6 x-rays--i thought it was too much.

And when i asked if it's harmful for me - they said no. Okay.

Then my insurance should cover all the cleaning process and they told me i should pay $60 on top of that coz apprently its not a regular clean-up, not a deep clean-up but smthing in Between.

and last not the least. They said how to i want to be knocked out. By N gas (happy gas) or tropical liquid OR both. and it would be extra $35 for N gas. Don't have any experience with any of those treatments so i just walked out and scheduled another appt for Now.

Any of u guys been to dentist lately? had that much Xrays? had been knocked out by "happy gas" ?

only time ive been knocked out was for wisdom removals. got a novacain shot for what they said was a sealant repair once (which ive had without novacain before). seemed like a cavity filling to me but who knows, they didnt say a whole lot

never seem to get more than 2 maybe 4 xrays

The gas doesn't knock you out, it only makes the process a whole helluva lot more comfortable. I've had a few cleanings and some deep cleanings, and let me tell you, that gas is the SHIZNIT. It was definitely worth every **** penny. Although they do definitely overcharge for it. They used to put it on ambulances.... stopped that after a few years of, "A little for you.... a little for me...." //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Great stuff.

I'd want a bit more info on why I had to pay out extra... the insurance normally doesn't pay for the gas, not unusual, but for them to create a new category of treatment, it sounds like someone's trying to get an extra co-pay out of the patient. I'd take it up with their billing administrator and then contact my insurance company and see what can be worked out... never know, they may be fraudulently double-billing and haven't gotten caught yet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Not too much, when I switch dentists they usually do a full set which I think it like 12. My insurance covers 1 set of x-rays every 3 years.

You should get this checked out immediately, chances are you have ball cancer and will not be able to father children

You should ask them what they are talking about 'something in between' would not cut it for me, then again I would be happy as shit if I only spent $35 at the dentist. I spent about 4k last year to get some surgery done. Thats will my insurance discounted rate, them paying 70% and using my 1k yearly max.

You should just get novacaine

I believe my xrays were either $300-400 before insurance paid anything.

Yah the gas was well worth the extra 1000$. But I was having 4 teeth pulled, and I had one pulled before without the gas and it hurt like hell. With the gas, he put it on, told me to count backwards from 100, I only remember saying 98.
Woke up, my family said I was happy as hell and drooling blood everywhere. At least it didn't hurt.
Works for me...

i mean "it didn't hurt" part not the "extra $1000"
