Not a big fan but I try. I think it's weird that Chronic 2001 is still one of the few rap albums that I enjoy.

I didn't mind rap a few years ago...like the first time I heard Ludacris - Southern Hospitality...I thought that was pretty good. Also playing basketball in the gym at high school was conducive to listening to a lot of rap.

have you gave Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt a listen? its from 1996, so its got some skill left in it, and IMO is pretty much his only good cd.

maybe some Cunninlynguists? its not the same garbage you hear now a days.

I have some cunninglynguists. The name alone drew me in. I don't mind Sage Francis either, but that's white rap....

Also, American Gangster wasn't bad. But for Jay-Z, toss up between Reasonable Doubt and Vol 2: Hard Knock Life, even though I don't really care for the title track.

yea it was pretty good.

only 1 thing i hate about gangster movies. lots of people will say X and X movie is a great movie simply for the fact that its a movie about a lifestyle they will never live. or am i taking this too far?

No, people are retardely in love with movies like Casino and Goodfellas because it's the dark side no one could ever be. I like those movies, but people get way too into them...calling them the greatest movies ever.

Mind you, I liked Blow a lot the first 100 times I saw it....so what does that tell you? lol.
