Alright sorry I can't remember, but a while back in like Jan. or earlier, there was pictures posted of a sub that had a flat carbon fiber piston (cone) with no logo, an enormous magnet (freakin huge), and a motor structure that I thought had 4 arms. This thing was strictly spl. For some reason I was thinking it was from someone who called it like an S series or something, but maybe I'm hallucinating. I also don't know if it went into production definitely. Does anyone know of subs that might fit these characteristics?

You're refering to eD's SPL sub prototype that is new effectively used as eye candy/paper weight. Hmm I forgot who bought it.

parthenon isn't even a complete speaker. Its just a motor, you still have to build something for it to drive.

at least thats what I got out of reading the description on adires site.

Sure it is. It's a dipole driver, no surround, unconventional square cone. It looks nothing like a car audio speaker because its application is completely different.

I think you have to put the "cone" on it. I think it just comes as a motor.

Yes it was eD's sub! A prize for you is in the mail. Now where are there pics of this Parthenon? I went to Adire's site but I couldn't find it anywhere. Tell me more about a "dipole" driver, what's that?

Wow, I am amazed by this thing, it needs no box! They claim it had the output of nearly 12 subs. I have already emailed Adire, I might buy one of these once I learn more. This is what could help me get where I want to go with the room that I have in a 2 seater.

If anyone has knowledge of this design please tell all, as I just might drop $5k. It's an engineering work of art and the specs are amazing, I can't help but turn all my attention to this thing!

I should mention that the Parthenon is a concept, where we can design the driver for your specific needs. Those needs can also effect pricing. The model we showed at CES is suggested to be around $5k.

No, you can have it "custom" designed for your specific application, but Adire does everything for you.
