Just built a box for alpine type r 12"

So this guy hit me up this morning "hey man i need a box for my 12" sub in my extended cab, I dont want it under the seat and I want it ported? can you do it?" and I told him sure and asked him what kind of music he listens to any everything. I did a box tuned 34hz and it kicked ***! i dont know what amp he was pushing it with but it was great for that 12". the box was big enough to still fit 2 people in the back. it was 1.5 cubic feet net. the minimum is .75 cubes and the max was 2 cubes so it was still specs. idk just shootin this out there for all the type r noob questions that ask "how should I do my box?" 32-34hz is your answer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/inlove.gif.6846f78f06b405429ef3a00129788a2a.gif

thats where he wanted it for some reason. and Heath I didnt look at it. he said some ****** 1000 watt amp that wont do rated.

I'm helping a member on my car forums design a box for his type R. The info I found on this site seemed to point more towards 2-2.25 at 30-32

It sounds amazing, the amp is an older 1000 watt pioneer amp with a tiny footprint. the specs were 18" tall, 20" wide, and i think 15" deep. 1" tall port, 18.5" wide, 25" long. I think I'm going to bondo up the box and paint it.

The port seems pretty small for that.

Well I meant the opening seems small for that. Thats only 12 sq in per cu/ft, I would have gone 14 or 15sq in per cu/ft.

Also concerning slot opening - JL Audio recommends against exceeding a 9:1 ratio for the slot opening, yours is just a hair over this.

17.75" wide port with that little sitffener, and might have some real restriction in the corner, unless you rounded it a good bit. although, i haven't seen much luck with thin slot ports, but, if it works....
