just bought 2 alpine type r's

hey guys.. I just purchased 2 alpine type r subs today and should arrive here in a couple of days. 300rms each I need help with how many cubic feet i need for the sealed box chambers im gonna make. Alpine.com recommends .7 to 1 cubic feet but have seen set ups with ne where from 1 to 1.7 cubic feet. If anyone has any experience with these subs please help. And also would u guys recommened a sealed or ported box for my subs if im looking for deep clean quick hitting bass. they will powered by a bd1000 with 1000rms at 2ohms and i think 750 at 4ohms

I would keep it around 1.0 cu.ft.. A smaller box will sound tighter. When you start making sealed boxes big, the sub starts playing sloppy.

hey you should keep it a 1.0 for a sealed box but if you go with a ported box make it around 1.7 and a ported box will sound alot better if you are going to play rap or r&b if you listen to rock get a sealed box but ported boes hitt harder and cleaner

the size of your port depends on what Fz you want to tune it to.

this is my first time to have a system because this is my first car. I would have no idea what i would need to tune it to. I listen to a variety of music but the main reason i bought the subs was to bump to rap.

What is the resonant frequency of the subs? You'll want to tune pretty close to that frequency.(Since you are listening to rap). Call Alpine's tech line, they can help with box displacement and port size for tuning.
