yea, horrible sound quality. and yea they did get loud but not in a good way.i myslef know the box i had was a pos, but dam, icker took the cake with this one.maybe an l7 is better?idk

If your enclosure is/was a POS then that was the problem for sound. The sub can only work with in the application which it is installed. Again, your aggression is not needed and is misplaced.

op, you are right and sacsking you are right too. kicker subs are not very good quality excluding the solo x. kicker squares are proven by track record to be the worst mainstream subs out there as far as dependability and ruggedness (excluding solo x) i did everything right with mine and they got thermal. but you probably did something to help the sub fry. it doesnt take much.

Then let us go down the path of finding you a new woofer. The L5 is not worth trying to get kicker to fix it. It also obvious you need to look into enclosures. So best idea, is to setup a price range for a sub. Then decide if you would like to build your own enclosure(saves a good amount of money), or if you would like to have one built.
