Just another random new Memeber!

Hello anyone who checks this thread out! I'm a new member, trying to build a great audio set up that can be competition grade without loosing practicality :p a tough task but w/e worth a shot aha! Im currently running 2 JL 10w3v3 subs with a Rockford t500-1bd amp, kenwood rears, stock fronts, Rockford T400-4 amp and a JVC head unit (ik nothing special). Soon to upgrade--- I have on the shelf a JL HD 750/1 amp, JL ZR 525CSI front, Rockford t2625 rear, Complete JL wiring (prem amp kit, prem RCA, etc.), pioneer DEH-X8500BH and I have 2 JL 10w6v3 subs on the way! Oh and also a Rockford 361 processor (really looking to upgrade, if anyone has a bit one for sale, arc ps8, salvo forget what, or a 363 please let me know!) subs are packaged in a custom MDF box I built for my G6.

Still to get, HD 600/4 amp, processor, rear ZR speakers, touch screen Head unit (cannot decide, suggestions PLEASE!)

A little about me, well my name is Mack, I live in Canada, I am 18 and I love Cars and audio as I DJ so Car Audio is my biggest hobbie right now as well as tuning my car and creating/editing music!

Thanks guys for your help from this form as I used it a few times with my car audio decisions!

Can't wait to join in on the discussions now! XD

Whats up mack seems like you got some money to spend here which is good because this hobby can get REALLY expensive. Just some advice its not what equipment you have but how its installed. The installation and prep makes a night and day difference. So that being said welcome to the forum and ask away!

Welcome fellow Canadian named Mack. I'm glad to hear people your age still have a passion for music and cars. Martin is right. How you install everything and tuning will make or break the sound you want. Spending all that money is only half the battle. It seems like you're headed to the right track though. Also, if you're gonna spend that much on a new processor, then you might as well utilize it to it's full potential and go fully active. You're a DJ, so I'm sure sound quality is of up most importance. Go on the search engine and find Keep_Hope_Alive and his Honda Accord SQ build. You will find amazing info on how a SQ build should be done. Any questions, let us know..

Thanks guys for the welcome and the tips! Ik instillation is important and so I will be researching and prob asking a lot of questions come February- March area (when I decide I can rip apart my car and live without it for a week) lol. I do have a question tho, when you say instillation does that mean proper wiring, solid brackets and tunning the sound processor so all speakers send sound to the driver at equal measure? Or am I missing something else, would speaker position be really important? I thought so originally, but when reading up on car audio competition guidelines for street too I don't remember what but a bunch said unaltered in front of the b pillar, and since I'm going also for practicality since it is my daily driver and I like to have room for a hockey bag in the trunk I prob won't compete in straight out comps where they have everything build up! (Forget the terem used) @blazian87 you say go active? I'm not sure what you mean by that and it may be due to my minimal research done on SP's so far, I wasn't originally going to get one until 2 weeks ago when it was brought to my attention so I managed to get a 361 for 50 bucks so I said why not :p but if you can explain what you mean by active that would be great cause I think it's a little different then when speakers are active or passive, or it might be similar idk. Also I noticed you have a alpine pxa-H800, can I ask what made you decide for that one? I was looking at specs and stuff and thought I didn't want it cause it seemed over price (like most alpine products) for what you get, I found the 363 was similar for less, or a audison but one would be the best, however I am open to a change of a opinion! Most guys on here have done this a lot longer than me lol and I value anyone's input on what processor to get!
Thanks again for your help!

Also alpine is a great budget brand and far from overpriced. At least here.

For your build you need to look into aftermarket alternators. You are getting into that very high draw power range, it takes power to make power.

@NoLoud4U aight aight, I missed that, so alpine vs bit ten since they are similar price range (especially after buying the alpine remote) what one would be better in this case, I didn't want 363 anyway, small thing but it doesn't match my audio set up lol, ik that dosent matter for quality but it's gotta be a lil pretty :) also man I notice you have zr 800s, do you like them/ are they worth, I though about adding those to make kind of a custom 3-way system with zr 525csi set for both front and back.

Alpine a buget brand? That's the first I heard, but then again most guys in my area still think that haveing a 2000w Max amp means you have all that power and u the best! So maybe I've developed a missrepresentation of alpine, I always thought they had good products just that there is better for just a tad more or usually less, usually when talking about head units, however I can't get my head wrapped around which head unit to buy either, maybe alpine has a better build quality. Oh and @NoLoud4U I am looking for a new alternator especially if I throw in the zr800s but for now I'm fine, as my max amp draw currently is like 70 amps and with the hd 750/1 it will be 100 amps and my alternator puts out 125 I'm just in the clear... Cutting close tho :/ looking at getting a 220 amp @1500 rms alternator.

If you don't have much experience than the 800 would be better.

I loved them AFTER about 6 months of trying to get them right. The doors needed 1/4 round braces and MDF mounts, sheet metal over all the holes, and as much CCF as I could get in there. Once all the work was done and dialed in they where awesome.

They price true power with minimal mark up. A 500 watt amp is $125, that's how it should be. Their HUs are not as good imo, some will argue but have had the last few great ones they made. Nothing now compares to the 9887, or 117.

Ok sweet good to know, I think I might eventually grab a few then, and yeah I have very little experience so I might go with the 800 or find a friend/actually pay my local shop to do the tuning and get a bit one. And that makes total sense than for alpine, I liked there amps but didn't look at them much I only pretty much considered purchasing there head units and therefore found them to be overpriced for what they have, but I guess I'll be honest there type r speakers for the price sound amazing (had a pair once) and there amps seemed reasonable for their power density ones at least, cause I was looking at getting those when I thought I was going to do type r speakers al round. I guess I take my previous statement back, they are over priced in head units and for the rest they are a good product! Thanks bro!
