Just a question on subwoofer performance...

I have a ported box with 2 subwoofers in it. I swapped my trunk layout around so the box is now facing into my car, and I noticed a huge drop in deep, flat bass. Now, subwoofers draw in air before they hit, correct? If I were to place fans inside the ports to speed up air flow, would I get a loud, deep hit? OR would I just **** up my woofers.

Your perception of the way ports function is off. Ports work because they reinforce the rear wave of the driver by bringing it in phase with the front wave - and the reason your subs sounded worse firing into the cabin most likely had to do with the way the panels were acoustically responding to the drivers. This is an extreme generalization, but hopefully you get an idea...

I just wanna know if it'll work...a simple yes or no w/ a brief explanation would gimmie a good idea. Since i'm somewhat new to the scene, I would like something I'd have a chance to understand........

I tried to explain it relatively easy...understanding how a bass reflex system works isn't something that can be typed into a neat little sentence or two. Places like http://www.bcae1.com do a better job with a concise write-up of how they work...and why putting fans in a port won't do anything except restrict air flow and make more fan noise.
