I am getting ready to replace my sub(JLw0 10). I was trying to decide on the IDMAX12-D2 or the JLW6v2. I want great sq and the ability to get loud. I have a 99 honda civic hb. Which ever sub I choose will be in a sealed enclosure. I have a JL 500/1 to push it. Which sub would do the best job.

wtf what kind of question is this? w6 or IDMAX? IDMAX all the way in every aspect. SQ or output and 500w is all you need for MAXs. I've heard both and I'll say IDMAXs would be the best choice.

so your think that 500 watts is enough to push an idmax. i was also wondering would the suround wrinkling on the idmax cause it not to last as long, like would the surround break or crease there?

500w rms is enough to push the IDmax pretty well. I run mine sealed 1.5cu' giving it 1500w rms (gains set low) and I would highly recomend it. I've had mine wired to a 4 ohm load (giving about 500wrms) and she loved it, still hit great lows and got almost as loud as it does with the 1500w I'm giving it now at 1 ohm.

never heard an IDMAX but go listen to a w6v2 in a store and tell me its not amazing.

caraudiomag.com rated the 12w6v2 as the best sounding woofer they ever tested.
