I have been around JL audio a long time and have JL..I have come to conclude that Jl has shitty products..They are over- priced, over-rated, and un-reliable..JL w3's..The tensil threads come off, the dust caps come off, the subs over heat..all though they have VRC technology which is suppose to help eliminate that..(WHAT A JOKE!)...The subs have distortion if not wired and tuned properly..Not to mention they BLOW all the time..I have had a lot of problems with my JLw3s..I know a lof of other people who have had these problems with theses subs..Some of the other JL's aren't quite as bad..But overrall..I would rate all JL products...OVERRATED!! I know a lof o peps don't agree with me..But this just comes from my own personal opion..DON'T BUY JL AUDIO..LOL..ITS THE DEVIL

I agree, i think JL is way way way way overrated...i think you jl out there just because its jl.....i have heard various set ups with jl and was not pleased, all tho i did notice that from all the setups i saw, the poor ol' subs were able to take abuse......

I agree with u man. I had 2 12WO's and pushed them with 300watts and they blew. Never bought a jl product agin. I think there alot better subs for the money

There are a lot better subs for the money..By the way a DD 9512 will stomp a W7..That sub doesn't imprese me much..I think it is a good sub but OVER PRICED FROM HELL..I'd rather have the DD subs..Thats my next system set up! I can't wait..lol

What have I been telling you since I met you??? Jl is the innovator, but as jlaine explained to me...all that research comes at a price, as we see with the W7. LOL, are you going DD now???

I have the 3510 in my truck now, but I have not heard it...I have a blown inline fuse

**** that a good sub...What kind of box you got it in? What amp and what wattage you planning on running that sub at? They have Great SQ..I had to re-wire my system all yesterday..That was real fun..lol..I worked fine..But I blew a sub today..One of them over heated..Thats why I re-wired since my system is wired in series so I can get a 2-ohm load I made sub two sub one so the one that over-heated didn't get so much abuse but..she blew on me...I'll go saturday and get it replaced for free so its not that bad

I have it in a 1.5 cu ft sealed...with a 1200.1 on it...hope it hits like the Elemental...I don't think you ever got to hear it did ya???

Nah..I've never heard your system..I know you will be satisfied with the 3510...We both need to go in together and make a SPL vehicle..Team COUNTRY HICKS..LOL

Yes JL subs(most of them) are overrated. Their sh^t does cost way too much(MSRP) but they do make pretty DA*N good amps(which still cost too much) The thing about JL subs is that they can't handle distortion, if you send a clipped high power signal to a JL sub kiss that thing goodbye. The W7 is their only durable sub and it just costs wayyyy too much $$$. As was said elsewhere JL is like a porsche you can buy a porsche and yeah its nice, but that doesn't mean that a corvette isn't just as good.
