jl12w6v2 ported?!?!?!

I have a w6v2 in a ported box built to jl specs which was advise buy the person that sold me it. It doesnt sound bad with rap cause the only notes that sound nice are the really low ones but any thing else sounds a bit on the crappy side should i go sealed?

If you go sealed you will have a flatter frequency response, but it wont be as loud. What is the tuning of your current enclosure, that could be your problem...?

jl specs is at 32hz iirc

Yes its tuned to 32 hz i mean some bass notes sound sloppy and unnatural. I had my gains set with a dmm and all bass boost off lpf on amp is 100 @ 24 db.

i have mine in a sealed box, i think it sounds great...but hey what do i know. I hear that they do really well in about 1.5 cubes sealed.

i heard that they pound in ported boxes. i have only heard them in a sealed box, and it rocked the house.

IMO Better ported...

Thats what they were made for....the 13w6 sounds better ported though

eh...w3's and w6's are almost 50/50 on proted or sealed... what kinda car do you have..
