How can you tell if you are running 2 Ohm or 4 Ohm?

I think my RE-SE 12" is a 4 Ohm piece but I don't know if I am getting the full 600W out of my 600.1 going to it (don't know all the stuff required to figure it out). The shop put it in but I was just reading and I need to be at 2 Ohm to get the full 600 which is what the 12 is RMS. How can I figure out if it is configured this way?

RE SE12's are dual 4ohm. It has two 4ohm voice coils...

All you have to do is combine both positives together, plug it into the positive on the amp. Then do the same with the negatives to the negative on the amp.

You have no presented the amp with a 2ohm load.

Call me retarded which is fine but I recently had this sub out and it only has two terminal on it. One + and one -

Can I meter it without pulling the sub out? Is this done where you connect on the amp?

Thanks for the reply!

To go from say 4-2-1 Ohm is it just wiring? Reason I ask is I have a 1200.1 that I picked up for my pair of SE-12's going in the truck but it has to go 1 Ohm to get the full 1200. How would that get split to send 600 to each?
