JL12w3 to a Boston G5?

I've heard the g5 in a 3 series BMW, and it sounded amazing, i dont know about louder, but it has amazing SQ. Great sub for the money! Thats about all i can say about it...

Ok thanks, I am happy with the SQ of the JL but it doesnt get loud enough. If the G5 will get louder in my GTO im going to swap it out. Let me know if anyone has personal experience.

Alpine type-X on 1200w would definately get louder. 8 11/16ths" deep though

SI Mag would do well too on the same. Not sure of the depth.

I'm not sure a g5 would be much louder given the usual

5-600w. It will sound great though.

You need something that's real happy in .85 to .9 net

and probably more power than the 12w3 had to really get

louder.

Ok, I believe the G5 only asks for 1 cubic ft sealed. If thats the case my box is a little bigger than 1 cubic ft. This should make it outperform the JL W3 correct?

i would assume it would outperform a w3... heres my case, since they compare a RE se to a w6. i tested the g5 and se in the same box at 1.2cubes with 500 watts.. g5 won hands down. sq and loudness.

Ok great, thanks a lot chinxtaboi. So the Boston G5 would outperform the W6 obviously. I am looking to get louder and thats about it. I dont know why I was told the G5 wouldnt get louder than the W3....so it will be worth the money and I will notice a big difference? Thanks a lot!

I'm just saying that in case you want to upgrade your amp. This sub get loud off not much power as well. Very efficient sub. I know this from experience. And others I know have it as well and one of them had a w6 before and he preferred the Rsdc instead.

The only think im worried about now is air space, im just a tad over 1 cubic ft. The Boston G5 is the only sub I see that asks for only 1 cubic ft sealed. Wouldnt that be my best bet especially if it outperforms the W6?

hm I will look into those, I have a tough decision now...im under the impression that the jl 12w3 is not suppose to get very loud so whatever I switch to should be a pretty big increase correct?
