JL W6v2

i havent heard a comparison from it to the w7...but i heard a lot of th good things fromt he w7 is put into the w6v2. Some guy hooked up 2 w6v2's and said it slammed harder then 4 of the older w6's...they should be very nice subs...

The new Jl w6v2 subs are next generation subs. One of those 12's is about 2 of the old ones. I have not heard them either though. I was under the impression that Jl had not even released those subs yet. And can you please explain why YOU think that the new W7 is flawed:crazy: . I have two 12 W7's in my trunk and they hit harder and cleaner than anything I have ever heard.

some say they do not cover a very broad range of frequencys. I have nothing against the w7's besides the price. Personally I was going to buy a 12w7 myself, but then people on this forum talked me out of it and said there are equal and maybe better woofers for cheaper. So I bought a brahma...even though the w7 looks 20 times better then the brahma....i bought the sub for the sound not the looks.

I am not getting all defensive or anything, but the W7 is a really good sub. With the right install and the right amp, that sub can hit 30hz no problem. And this is very important, the sub does it cleanly. I know that there are subs out there that can hit lower, not to much though, and not as clean.

how "clean" the sub hits is an opinion of the listener. I am glad you are happy with your w7's. I never said i had anything against them or they were bad subs. I could afford a 12w7...but i figured I would go with the brahma and spend the extra $150 towards my install.

Sound quality in subs is completely subjective; I have heard the W7 on a couple of occasions and it did not impress me. I think the W6 has more to offer in the way of SQ. I would be worried if the sub didn't hit 30hz; now try 70hz. Something is lacking...

I have not personally heard either the w7 or the w6v2. When I mentioned the w7's flaws, I was referring to comments made by people who have heard it and stated that it was severely lacking in the midbass area; also referring to its price, which may not technically be a flaw, but is certainly a deterrent for some people.

well I might consider them for my next subs, when I see how they compare to an idmax, but this "next" system is prolly a year away so who knows what will be out then

anyway I'll have to check with my local shop, I have a buddy there who gets me decent prices sometimes

i just cancelled my order on my brahma because it was taking forever and they said it was going to be here last week. I just purchased and installed 2 12w6v2's on a JBL 1200.1....VERY IMPRESSED.

I knew they would be. A JL rep told me that they are better than the w7s in his opinion. He said it has the midbass and low end and pretty much everything the w7 was lacking but next year they are making it better. He said all in all its a better all around sub for alot less. I want to hear one. How do you compare yours?

really?!? please send me some more details...how is the sq? how would u compare them to other subs that u have heard? what kind of enclosure, did u make it yourself? and how much did u pay and from where?

e-mail me if u like: ace7733@aol.com

thanks
