JL W6v2 Voice Coils

Anyone know where I can find a voice coil for a JL W6v2 beside going through JL. There wanting almost $400 ( that I dont have) for a recone. I already have the motor, just wanted to rebuild it. rip ur sub apart and measure with calipers. measure id and od of the winding on the coil...

The ID of the coil is something stupid like 2.735"

My supplier was given the part information accidently and has it listed in their catolog, but the manufacturer won't sell the coils to anyone but JL. Hence, I cannot get them. Same deal with the 13W7 coils, and probably most of their drivers.

Basically JL's way of making sure you can't recone thier subs unless you go through them..

jl spends alot of extra coin to control there products. take apart a w6 or w7 they use cheap soft parts...

I can find the other soft parts no problem, but the coil is a ***** to find. Am thinking of modifying the motor a bit to take a 3" coil. Just am experiment, got nothing to lose, tell you how it turns out
