Thats straight form eric at ID. Id suggest the IDv3 they are a great woofer for money.
.8 ft is right on the line. Smallest recommended by ID for the IDv3. They might be okay in that box, otherwise its the IDQ's for you. Call ImageDynamics and ask them which they'd recommend, they love helping people with their products.best advice i've gotten so far. Thanks! i'm startin to lean heavily towards the image subs just so i can get off the JL bandwagon for a lil while.which one?? keep in mind my box is sealed with .8^3 each side and still haven't bought an amp
ID12d4 v.3- Xmax of 17mm, rec power of 250, and enclosure reccom. of .8-1.5 cu ft, 88.6db sensitivity
IDQ12d4 v.2- Xmax of 13.7mm, rec power of 350, and enclosuer reccom. of .55-1.00 cuft, 89.9db sensitivity
if it helps i was tryin to decide between the jl 500/1 amp or phoenix gold ti 600.2 or maybe a xenon

While I understand what you mean (you've been reading squeak's posts havent you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif), simply saying more xmax = less distortion is not exactly true. Two subs given the same excursion level, the one with more xmax is working less to reach that point, so yes its distortion threshhold would be less, but that does not mean distortion over all will be less, nor that a speaker will generally have less simply because it has more excursion potential.o and a side note...the more xmax a speaker has the less distortion
So let me guess xmax has everything to do with a speaker?um for some reason the vid of my 10w3 looks like it moves more air than your id12v3
hmm go figure
