JL slash amps: where can you get the black face?

I have a JL500/1 with the standard silver finish. The lights from the amp rack reflect off of it and into my rearview mirror at night.

Question #1: can the amp plate be replaced with one of JL's black versions?

Question #2: where can i buy the black plate only (JL doesn't sell direct)

I called them and they don't sell hardware direct to the public.

I would like to save this for a last resort, my painting skills aren't that great.

You will pay about as much for the actual plate, as you will pay just outright buying the black series online.
