I'm running an Eclipse 8455. It's not new, but works flawlessly. I'll probably get a new h/u this summer, so that's why I'm not considering a new one right now. As for the wires/cables, I'm using some that are fairly new (knukonceptz). All the wiring is already installed anyway. I get what you're saying about buying an rb unit and reselling it, but just don't want to deal with that. Thanks for the inputs.Used is no big deal. I've been watching 500/1's and 300/2's on eBay for QUITE some time before deciding to go with the diamond audio amps I bought. You can get a slightly used 500/1 on eBay for $175 out the door and a used 300/2 for $150 out the door. Those are consistent prices, too, for amps that look almost new!! I've seen both amps sell for as low as $120 shipped, if you just wait. Unfortunately, I missed those auctions and haven't seen any after that since now everyone has christmas money to spend. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I'd say use your credit to get a nice refurb head unit from sonic, something you could get a decent return on via ebay. Then just get buy the amps you want used on ebay and end up spending nothing and save yourself $200. I can think of lots of good stuff to spend the $200 you save on...but that's just me. With a $350 credit you can get a Pioneer DEH-P9800BT, and they're still selling for that price on eBay, so you'd be loosing no money.
I'm just letting you know what you COULD do with that cash. You could always just make it easy and get the amps you want right away directly from sonicelectronics and not deal with it....or you could spend it smart and use that money you save to get all new wires and cables, or whatever.
I have never seen a 500/1 slightly used go for that cheap on thereUsed is no big deal.
