jl or kicker... hummm

Hey guys,

I"m sorry i'm asking so many dumb questions, but i'm just 16 and have to work really hard for the $ and want the best for the dollar. I wanted to know if 2 Kicker L7 12s or 2 Jl w7 12's would be a better choice.. I have a ROckford Fosgate X7 amp... Please help.. THanks!

The W7 would be a better choice, in almost any application; but if you do infact work hard for your money like you say you do...it could be better spent else where. Look into Incriminator Audio.

well i Like both jl and kicker i have (2) 10'' kicker l7 in my truck and my sis boyfriend has (2) 10'' w7 in his nissan ser spex v and when he had them up and runing i could here him form a mile away im in the country so it really does not matter how lound he played them so it was all good. but they had some realy good SQ to them and got realy loud but then one got blown so he is thinking of getting (2) kicker l7 12'' so it is really up to u what u would like they are both good subs the jls would be alot more than the kickers would be so that may be a factor for you. My l7's i like so far even though i know they will be alot better as soon as i have more time to make a better box and get the money for the right size power cable to go to my amp. But you are on the right step with the sub choose. There is prob going to be alot of people on here that are going to be wanting u to get RE, Sx, xxx, or what not but i rather be able to go out and here the subs im going to get befrore i buy um.

same here ^^ all of the dealers around here sell, kicker-jl-jbl-clif design-audiopipe-memphis and pioneer. so i go with what is around here and that i know what it sounds like.

hey RE has dealers across the country (ok not everywhere) call them up and ask if theres a dealer near you....

but these companies really do way more bang for the buck that what you would get the JL for and even a little more than the kickers...

i mean how can you beat RE's direct pricing when the XXX has been said to be as good if not better than some JLW7 installs.....

not to mention the brahma and the Death Penalty........

The W7's would def. blow them outta the water.

If your a poor 16yr old, don't waste your cash on such expensive subs.

Buy a couple memphis subs, a nice box, and strong amp.

Save yourself more than a few hundred and you'll love the stereo.

SPL or SQ?

SPL the kickers take it but SQ definitely goes to W7 and it gets decently loud.....

well the L7 and W7 are two totally diffrent subs...listen to both, price both, and then decide. Your the one whom needs to be pleased with your purchase....so tyrust your ears way before anything else.

Be ready for sticker shock on the W7...a great woofer, but a great price tag as well.

It boils down to what you want. The JL's depending on where you buy them, will cost you almost 3 times as much as the L7. The JL's will get very loud, and sound very good while doing it, but the L7's are spl subs, and will get louder, with less SQ. But for the price, you could almost get 3 L7's for the price of the w7. Check this out 2 L7 12's for $390 plus shipping, with warranty brand new You will save so much money doing this, but i think you will only be able to get a 4 ohm load, which i think is 1000watts rms for that amp. While you have 500 extra watts available from your amp if you had a 2 ohm load, 1000 will be enough to get those things moving. And depending on your space available, you could even buy 2 more L7's in the future, and beat the hell out of alot of systems. I would go with the L7's, but only because of price. Good luck with your decision!

u can get a 1 ohm load with those subs, get dual 2 ohm L7s if u want a 2 ohm load
