JL or Alpine

after reaserch on the net i found 2 speakers that i'm intresting in. the 1st one is the JL audio XR 650 CSi and the second one is the alpine SPX 177a type X. alpine is more expensive, is it wort it. The alpine is"bass engine ready" and my HU is alpine 9813 (still shipping) that got the same thing, what "bass engine" mean?

And for the JL, i just like the brand name and some people recomend it to me.

well which one is better for SQ, and SPL occasionally?

the bass engine thing lets you shape the sopund it has a 5 band parametric eq, x-overs, time corerction, and sub settings if that helps.

Where are you mounting the Comp's?

If you're mounting in Kicks, Your opinion

If you're mounting in Doors, JL.

The Alpine X comps are VERY deep for a speaker and would be very hard to mount in the doors of your car id you didnt want to cut a hole for the midbass.
