I think retail is @ 500...

i would agree about that, but, i don't think the BM has as shallow of a mounting depth as this does.

onces its a shallow mount isnt anything less than 3" kinda splitting hairs?

nah, but ill gladly save a few hundred bucks and be without bass for a while lol...
