Im looking at getting either 2 12w3s or w6s, which one is better? I want to be heard coming down the street. Which one has better SPL and decent sound quality and what amp should I use with it?

The w6 will out do the w3 by far. I have a friends who has one 10w6 in his tacoma and he has been pulled over twice for noise violation in our city. The w6 sound awesome and have really tight bass.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

both good subs. w6 more sq, w3 slightly worse sq but can do v.good spl - seen a van with 5 15W3 pushing 168dB with over 750RMS to each sub - they can take lots of power and are way cheaper than the w6s (you are talking about the old w6s arent u?)

If u are talking about w6V.2, then i havent heard one but looking at the specs and picts, it seems quite good, like a small w7. But I think if you want a mixture of SQ/SPL, then any of these in the right enclosure will kill at least 2 W3's or W6s and u can quote me on this...............

3. IDMax

4. HSL eXcursion pro - one of the most underrated subs ever, which bumps off v.low wattage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5. Eclipse Ti (v.expensive though!!!!!!!!! Apparently they can take around 3000RMS all day long, according to an Eclipse technician who posted on another site a while ago).

I don't exactly agree. The w6 will out perform the w3, but not by far. The subs have about the same design and shape, they are just different models. As for the w6v2, I do believe that it will by far out perform the w3 and w6. This sub is designed like the w7 and should fair very well at comps...as for comps, I have seen many great systems with w0 subs in them so my point is that any choice of JL Audio would be a great choice and definitly not a waste of money.
