JL Audio

Hate to disagree, but the quality of the sub has absolutely nothing to do with the music being played.
how not? if you listen to rap instead of rock you'll probably want a different kind of sub or at least enclosure the different kinds of music utillize different abillities of the sub for example the best subs i have ever heard play country were type-x 10's which i hate with all other kinds of music

getting more sub than you are going to use doesn't pay off with w7's but yes they have the ability for better sound quality and output...
but i preffer the w6's myself
The w7 gets louder and sounds better, but you prefer the w6? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

read on i explained that maby its cause the w7's are too accurate and lack some of the blurrienss that isn't better but is sometimes more desireable...

truf - jl is nothing special

truf - all jl products are over priced

truf- there are way better performing products out there for the money

truf - the w6 is a better sub than the w7

truf - jl amps are overpriced

and if that dead thud that i hear from all w7 woofers is accuracy then i dont need accuracy

I was saying to get the W7 for rap over the dub6 because most rap is not recorded very well and plays loud less complex ranges of Bass Frequencies and the W7 would be louder. Most people who listen to mostly rap are bassheads. What I mean is if you have 4 different drums playing at once the W7 will more likely blend them all into one note more so than the W6. Some people will think this sounds better because you don't hear any sloppy bass. The W6 might play more accuratelybut it might not sound as good due to the recording being too complex/crappy. However more accurate = better SQ IMO. The W7 will blend notes more than the W6, so in recordings that are not very good or don't exercise the entire BL curve the W7 can likely sound better to the ear. But in a nice SQ recording which involves playing a wider range of frequencies the Dub 6 should produce tighter cleaner bass without any as much blending of notes or exageration at certain frequencies. Well at least in a SEALED box which is really where the W6 shines....

W7>W6 SPL (go ported)

W6>W7 SQ (go sealed)

SQL well that might be a toss up, sub for sub, and depending on what your looking for more.

So if yo think the W7 is a better SQ sub, then that is your opionion. But if you were to call and ask the designers at JL I'm prettys ure they would recommend the W7 for SQ.
