JL Audio W6 fakes...........

Two subs can look identical and still perform very differently. If the spider is different, its a different sub (prolly not the only difference). If they were simply B-stock W6's Id say great deal. But it does appear they were built just to try to copy the W6 design, not as original W6's that were outcast for whatever reason.

Id steer clear myself. That's not even all that cheap for a 10" subwoofer.....

I will contact Manville Smith at JL Audio and see what he has to say about this. If I'm not mistaken JL Audio is their own buildhouse and doesn't build drivers for any other company. Therefore it's interesting as to how this "generic" driver looks almost identical to the W6 cosmetically.

Anyways, I'll let you guys know what he says.

Its obvious what Manville waill say, they didn't build them nor do they recommend or support them. I dont think that's in dispute here at this point, just whether or not they are worth the money (something a JL Audio employee likely wont be able to tell you).

did you all read the specs on which he rated the drivers for home use....a 7 foot cube box is insane for a 12 inch i would say right?

anyways i would not buy it.

It may be me but does the jl logo look silver on the real dustcap while the alternative looks white? Also, the J and L on the alternative look closer together than the original.

The silver JL is from the authentic Anniversary Edition 10w6; I'm assuming the other, 'white' JL caps are from older lines.
