Which do yall think is a better value? Better SQ? Overall? The Infinity Reference 1040 10" sub gets great reviews on Crutchfield.com and is really priced low right now. I've always heard good JL Audio systems in friends cars and the w1v2 10" would fit nicely behind the seat of my regular cab '96 GMC Sierra. Suggestions? Thanks.

I auditioned both of these subs in the 12" versions before I bought one. I ended up with the JL.....it basically went about as low as the Infinity, but BLEW the Reference away in output. The reference was moving like crazy in the box, but just didnt have any SPL to speak of.

I bought the JL and Im very impressed with this subs sq and output for an entry level sub.

I would go with the infinity. It seems that for SQ infinity allways have some of the best products. Also if you want to splurge a little then I would sugjest going with infinity VQ series. You can pick one up for about 180 (shipped to your door) of ebay and they are incredible subs. It sounds like you don't have much space for a sub and going with the VQ series it is extemely versitile. I have 1 10 in my car and it hits hard. Plus it only takes about 1.25 cu ft of air space to port the box to 35hz. But overall If you want sq out of those 2 go with Infinity.

All of u F****** Idiots that went with the infinity's are dumba****. I have 2 12 w1v2 with a 250/1 slash series amp in a sealed box and the only subs that out bump me from the people that I know what they have is either two 12 w3v2, w6v2 and the w7.

You're hilarious, this has to be a joke.

Entry level JL (READ- anything less then a W6) really isn't anything to write home about and is overpriced.

Infinity offers a great price to performance ratio, and the sale on authorized Kappa Perfects Crutchfield was running was a good deal. You really can't go wrong with the reference line though, I would rather own one then a JL.

I just read that your truck is a regular cab, with that in mind I would do the reference 1040 or 1050 (newer model) because you will have a depth issue most likely with the Kappa Perfect. The new Kappa 104.7 would probably work though if you had the extra money, those subs sound fabulous and have good output, especially in the price range. They're also pretty shallow because of the Neo motor

Wait a sec, I just realized that the original thread starter isn't even going to read this because the thread is 5 months old... what a waste. W1V2 you're a moron for bringing this thread back without having anything constructive to say.
