yes it was alot of money but that price wasn't just for the equipment itself. Now you seem like a smart person so add up all of the labor, all of the parts, add up everything and it will be just what it was,lol.

Thank you so much for everything. I am looking into the site as we are typing and I am really interested. again Thank you. what do you feel about some of the olk skool amps? I have a good friend of mine that has some that he will let me have for near nothing. the amps are an old skool Precision Power PPI-2300M, Old School Rockford Fosgate Punch 800.2 and an old school Mcintosh Mc431. are any of these worth looking into as a possibility or not? any info on these amps would be appreciated.

Those are all really nice amps i would use the ppi for subs @ 4ohms and the mcintosh for a nice set of components. Alpine, cadence, pioneer make nice budget components. I had 2 jl audio 10w3v2 rated at 300wrms apiece and was pushing them with 500 apiece and they sounded great. I paid full price 7 years ago for them and they have been nothing but reliable. I have had a couple of kenwood amps and they never quite sounded right. Dont shy away from buying online though there are alot of other great name brands out there.

I do wished that I could say that about the labor,lol. I wouldn't know where to start with installing a whole system like that. Installation is not me, listening to it is,lol.

Yea i have heard alot of very good things about Mcintosh amps. but then the old school ppi is a nice amp to from what i understand.

thanks but my last car was done up with nothing but Boston equipment and i am trying to stay away from going that high again. The total cost of that system was right at $8500.00. Although it was a sweet system. Thanks for the input.

**** half the fun is putting it in yourself. It isnt that difficult and you can get alot of help from people on this and other forum. Personally i trust myself more then any shop.

the jl amp only does 180w at 4 ohms thats a little weak for a 12w3 I would either get a 12w1 sub or the kenwood amp

I am running 275w to my single 10w1v2 and it has no issues with it

Thank You. I have re-done the sub with a 10" and the JL 700/5 amp. I have been told that it will be just fine as I am not looking for that window shattering Bass just clean bass. again Thank You very much for the input.
