Yea they had a "special edition" on the V2 amps, but now the V3 will be avaliable in black at any time. So any used Black amp will be the older version. As of know anyways.

Actually the old black JLs were the original slash series not v2, and the new black v3 mono amps have more output. (600/1 and 1200/1)

I agree. Who cares. I can't believe they can charge more just for a different color. They did the same thing with the W7 anniversary edition.
