Hey, i just picked up a JL Audio RBC-1 bass remote knob for my jl 500/1 amp.

but after reading up on it more it states that it increases/decreases the bass boost instead of turning the gains up or down. knob to all the way to the left is 0 bass boost and all the way to the right is +15 bass boost.
I know bass boost is not good for the sub but how will it affect the sound of the sub? It may be worth it for me to wear out the sub a little sooner for the convenience, but i might not use it if it makes the sub sound bad.
What are your opinions on this product and how should i tune my amp with this plugged in? thx. running 1 JL 10W6V2
