OK, I searched over the forums front and back, and Ive heard mixed reviews about JL audio. Can any car audio expert please give an honest answer as to thier products. I just bought 2 12"w3v3's but havnt installed them yet and would definately feel like shit if im not getting what i paid for, $220 a peice. Alot of people compare these subs to the Type R's and say how they beat it in SPL but obviously cause the TypeRs run 500rms while the W3s only 300RMS. As for the innovative technology JL has to offer, im sure their products durablility and reliablility are up to par with their price points. What are your views? Like what other subs that run 300RMS will beat the w3's in SPL and SQ. No shit a lot of subs out there will beat the W3's in SPL, but im talking about subs with comparable specs. I do not consider comparing a 300rms sub to a 1000rms sub COMPARABLE. Either the relatively same price points or same RMS power. Your help is much appreciated.

Well, i just bought the V3's. I would definately hate to fall in love with another sub after JUST purchasing these. I just want to know if i made the right decision or not

you dont ask questions after you buy them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

but they are good subs, though a lil expensive for what u get

Well if you already have them, then use them and see if you like how they are.

IMO, JL is overpriced and you pay more for the name then actual product. Like you said they may be comparable to the type R, but the type R can be found online for around $100-$150.

Dont let that get you down though. Build some boxes for them, try them out and if you feel like they werent worth the money, you can always sell them and try something new! Thats the fun part about car audio, trying new stuff.

They are great subs if your willing to spend the money on them. Ive owned them and love them, one of the best sounding woofers I've ever had. I found 500 watts to be a perfect median for them.

I would never own a Type R

yeah Ive done my research on them before i've gotten them. The main reason i got em is cause i was originally going to get the w3v2, but since the v3's came out i have fallen in love with them.

Thanks for reassuring me that the money ive spent did not go to waste.

I plan on building a ported box for em powered by a 500/1 JL amp.

Note that i am NEW to this car audio stuff but I plan to install and build the system along with my dad. Is that a good idea since im new to this and may screw up the wiring and stuff cause i know how important the install is for the system to sound good. Any tips and advices for me?

You guys are great help, I am very pleased.

You made a good decision man, dont let the neg. comments get u bummed... There gonna imo be louder than a r and sound better doing it.. Have them in a 3.5^ft enclosure if you have room and tune to 35-38 (depending on ur listening, not a huge dif. but a good daily tune) And they WILL handle power.. A few guys i no had the w3s from 4-5 years ago With a memphis mc1000d on em and another w a rf bd1000... And they were rated for less power and had less heat disapation back then

How is saying you have JL products FLOSSIN? There are other companies out there with products priced WAYYYYYY higher than JL products. Dont be a hater just because JL is a more recognized company and everybody is talkin JL. Please dont get me wrong, im not just a JL PRAISER.
