I am gonna be doing an install in my truck that consists of: jl audio 500/1 and a

jl audio 300/4. The 500/1 will be pushing 2 old 10w6s(300rms @ 1.5 ohms). The 300/4 will be pushing (4) db6500 components(100rms @ 4 ohms) My question is, do I need to run 4 ga. to boh amps, or can I run 4 ga. to the 500 and 8 ga. to the 300?

thanks

What else will be needed for this install(cap(s), alternator rewound, etc ?

I just did this install with a jl aud 500/1 and 450/4 and walmart dual 4 gauge kit. The splitter connects the 4 gauge to two 8 gauges when you finish the powerline run from the battery to the amps. So my power run of actual 8 gauge is only about 8 " to the 500/1 and 2 feet to the 450/4. I also bought a second splitter so I could run both grounds out from the amps (8 ga) to one common 4 gauge which went to the B pillar driver's side screw next to the seat. Grounded HU to same point.

Seems to work fine. No capacitor or alternator mods necessary.
