I've been reading up on this amp the specs state that it's 500 watts @ 1.5-4 ohms, but I need to ask people who have had experience with this amp, what is the most ammoutn of power you have generated from this amp stabily at the lowest possible ohm load? meaning how much watts at the lowest ohms

i've changed my mind and i'm gettin the 500/1 amp and then i'm gonna get the 13 1/2 JL w7 sub but the amp first but i think it will be too much power for my MTX 6000 12's so i'm prolly gonna sell those and get the w7's. I hope its gonna be money well spent for me :/

the 300/2 JL amp just dun seem enuff power heh

you might ask around on the sub and speakers forum before you spend all that money on the w7, I haven't heard it, but the ppl who have aren't very impressed

when and where did this happen at?

i heard it for myself

it freakin bangs ur head off for real one 500/1 JL audio amp hooked up to one 13" w7 sub hit as hard as 4 12"s on my life. I heard it at Dr. Dashboard Car Stereo. and ever since then i've been hooked ^_^

I haven't heard a w7, but several of the "vets" around here have and have commented that it is severly lacking in midbass. As far as what other choices, it depends if u want sq or spl or both. I would suggest posting a topic on the subs and speakers section asking for opinions on the w7 and possible alternates, then compare your choices (listen to them all) and pick whatever you like the best.

Good luck!

500/1 would barely power the 13w7 and would suffer on a pair that is even fact from jl. the 500/1 is a solid fully regulated amp if you bothered reading on it at 1.5 ohms its 600 watts or so while at 4 ohms its 500..no big or noticable difference here . stays rock steady down to 11 volts ...now u r thinkin hmmm thats low power but in reality its pretty solid because subs are reactive loads and the 500/1 will be 500 watts always where other class d's will be jumpin all over the place powerwise
