The other day I noticed a hiss coming from the amplifier, even with the system off. Nothing crazy, but it was noticeable. I also noticed a smell from the amp. Everything other than the hiss was fine. Normal volumes, no static, steady green light. I checked all the wiring and connections and it seems fine. I have not touched anything on this system in about 2-3 years since I installed it. Now today, I get a ton of static from all 4 speakers and the volume of the music is very low, even with the system turned up. I am not sure what the problem could be and I don't want to run to a shop just yet. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? It's been a while since I've done anything in the car audio department so bare with me. I had an account here a few years ago, but don't remember my login.
