i have the CVS210RG-10W6v2. had it hooked up to a bridged LRx 2.500 @ 4 ohms, and also had it hooked up to a LRx 1.400 @ 1 ohm (rewired the enclosure of course). never had a problem, and a ton of accurate & tight low frequencies. crazy enclosure, right at home in an e46 coupe trunk (perfect dimensions & angle match).

not sure about the W6v1 however.....

wouldn't even look @ an alpine for speakers of any sort.

Hey sorry to butt in but whoever said they think the Type R gets more excursion, I'm pretty sure that's false. I'm not saying the Type R moves more air, but it's Xmax is significantly greater (I believe about 2mm more?). I have run a 1242d type R at 450W, 2 1242d's at 900W, and 2 1242d's at 1500W (all sealed I wanted to keep the SQ they do have) and all of my setups have gotten...stupid loud you might say. I have heard the 12w6v2 and it is a fantastic woofer with great SQ in my opinion, although I have not heard the v1. Am I saying Type R is the way to go? Absolutely not. Do I agree with BringDaBoom that type R's can get just as loud? Hells yes.

Oh and I agree with BDB on 400W being too much for a 12w3v1, that's even pushing it for 3v2. My friend has 2 w3v2's in a ported running 300 to each and they hit pretty nice. But if you can get a good price on a w6v1, I'd say that's the way to go.

ha jl w6 against alpine type R ! ! what an easy choicejl sounds better and is i bet louder comparing 12 to 12

say u run a w6 and type R ported on a jl 500/1

the jl would smash the type R, be louder and sound way better,

the jl from experience has more excursion also
I STRONGLY disagree (although install dependent) First of SQ. honestly the w6 really might sound better. So I dont' debate that. But as far as loud goes. I wonder if you just haven't heard type R's done right. Honestly I have seen type R 12's beating two w6 12's. Hands down I would say go with the type R unless sq is a major factor. This is no exaggeration .... I have one 12 inch type R in a 6th order para. BP. 500 watts going to it. It is INSANE> it is a zx2. Moves a good amount of air.I can do slight hair tricks with it. the dash rattles to hell. I can bounce things around in my seat pretty well. And yesterday I noticed the windshield wiper arms wobble a good 1/4 inch peak to peak. .. All this from the trunk... Show me w6's doing this? Again I dont' know EVERY install ever done in the world so maybe you will find one. But i HIGHLY doubt it. HIGHLY Even in mecaSPL nobody uses JL. Besides Mr lane. And he typically doesn't do that well. Now for SQ I hear JL does wonders
