JL Audio 10w7 foam repair?

It sounds like a rip off to me too. The speaker still kits hard as is, but I worry about damaging it further. I guess eventually the 2 in. tear would turn into a four in. and so on.

i have the same problem i have a tear in my sub but not in the middle its around th outer edge on the soft part not on the hard cone part

is there a way to fix that and where can i pick up the supplies

thanks

sell it to some dumb kid who watches unique whips. take the cash and get yourself a real sub, like a DD
X2 hells yes
If you want something that costs the same as JL, is slightly louder but sounds like total *** then you are giving good advice. If he wants something a littler quieter, same price but sounds a million times better then he should stick with the JL. With that in mind would I ever run either DD or JL equipment, no, both are too expensive, JL is for preps and DD seems to have somewhat questionable ethics.

I fell in love with this sub. I bought it and a jl 500/1 and a cap and my car was hitting harder than most of my friends. Given, none of them had anything professionally installed, but neither did I. My one 10" was hitting harder than their 2 12"'s and 1200 amp.

Yea, the W7s are decent subs, they hit high SPL numbers and sound pretty decent, the main problem is that their price and the fact you can get the same thing for less money.

I wouldn't say w7s hit high SPL numbers. But few woofers compete with the w7 in both loudness and sound quality. But if you notice its competitors (mag,XXX,IDmax) are all pricey.

w7's are badass subs, yes there are better subs out there for the same price but they want at least 1000 watts on up to 3000. The 10w7 will run off 500 and be fine, versus something like a xxx which requires gobs and then you need to upgrade your electrical system to handle it and a much more exspensive amp.

Ummmm..... I hope you realize you have been sold by ignorant marketing.... To my knowledge there is no minimum power requirement. It conducts electricity the same. Now some subs come to live better with more power and use it more effectively. And I would say yes does the w7 in a sealed box use it's power more effectively than most. yes.... BUT remember ported is more efficient and in their ported application there are many subs that do better even with same power. The w7 wasn't really designed to be an output sub. Give a xxx 500 watts in its correct box vs the w7 in its correct box. you may be surprised
