mine couldnt get low like what so ever. sold both pairs and im very happy with my sundown sa 10s they get low and do a great job hitting everything esle. waiting for this sale to get done to get rid of my of my other bnib but if your looking for straight sq its the way to go but i didnt get not to many lows from my 12s so tens would be even less.
Definitely want sq over spl, but at the same time I do want it to be decently loud, if that makes sense! I used to have a Boston Acoustics G3 10" sub and the sq was amazing (to me), but figured it would be a little louder than it was. I'm just kind of comparing that to the JL I heard and I think the JL seemed louder. Thought about the SA 10, but I thought it was more of a spl sub and also preferred a ported box, where as I am just doing a sealed box to save space. I sold my BA sub (which I regret) and went with a Critical Mass SS82 and it's just not powerful enough. So I figured I would go back to a 10" sub.
i went from two 15s to a 13.5w7 and thought i wanted a sq system so i went with two jl w3v3s with a jl 500.1v1 and wasnt happy at all had everything except the lows which i like. i tryed a custom box built to specs, still didnt like. sold them got two tens and the sq is great and spl is awsome i think the sundown is better both in sq and spl imo. it really depends on how much power you are using. i have my two sa's in a ported box built to specs and its not really that big not small but nothing to bad so a single one wouldnt be nothing. i would check out local ppls system and see what you like. the subs are rated at 600 rms but a good clean amp can do 1k or more so you have head room. thoses jls can really only do about 300-400 rms and thats it just look and research
Yeah, but w/o spending a crap load of $, if that's even possible! Really wanting to stay around the $150 mark, could go a little higher if need. The amp I got is an Eclipse XA5000, puts out 450watts to a 2ohm load, so that's the power I'm working with.
