I have a 10 inch JL Audio W7, recently the foam surrounding the cone split, it is now un-usable, JL Audio wants 220 dollars to fix this when a local Speaker Shop near where I live will fix it for roughly 50-60 dollars. Does any one know where I could purchase a whole new surround for the speaker, the cone and foam surrounding it?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. JL AUdio will not sell just the surround already called them!

Thanks

M

post pics of the damage. you may be able to fix it yourself with some glue

He said he could replace it if he could get a replacement surrounding, but all the places he deals with do not get the for the W7, he can get them for ones like W6 and other JL ones but not that one. Damage is to bad i doubt glue would fix it, it is completely seperated from the 2 inch foam surrouding, the cone is seperated that is about 3/4 of the way around.

IT was completely my fault, I built the box myself and everythig was cool, I added a little bit of poly fill to create a little more air space, bumped good until you turned it up really loud and then it started to extrude and as soon as that happend, bang, f**** ripped i was so mad but didnt get to mad because i did it to myself, the only thing that upset me is i payed 150 for the subwoofer when the 10s go for 400 +.......... I cant find anywhere to find just the surrounding, I suggested what if i bought a non working one to use the surrounding and he said you cant do that? I wasnt sure why but i "suppose" hes the expert. I HATE having a ride with no bump, really makes the ride horrible >//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Naw nothing was wrong with it, i had it in there awile before i f** it up, i bought it off a good buddy. It would still be bumping if i wouldnt have done that, HAHAHA... Oh Well, guess ill end up sending it to JL to have them fix it for 220 dollars, then i have 370 into it, i could buy a new one off ebay for that much but oh well
