JL 500/1 or something else?

i'm pretty set on getting a JL stealth box in my 350Z but might want to go with an amp with a little bit more power than the 500/1...i have a feeling i can find something with more power that is cheaper and still good quality. any help?

what's the difference between the kicker amps ZX and KX? for the price could the Kicker 06ZX850.2 at $362 be a better deal than paying $499 for the JL 500/1?

kicker makes great amps, from what ive heard the zx line of amps are top notch. ask polecat he works for kicker i think.

i used to have a 500\1. it was ok, but it never liked a 1ohm load, it kept shutting off until i smoked it, its ok if you run jl speakers cuz then everything matches up, but for the money you can get alot better, now im into spl, so i cant really give you any answers unless you want to spend money for alot better products

a 500/1 is fine for a stealth box in a Z. you wont need anymore power.

even better, a 1.5 stable mono amp, that really only works with jl subs, that explains the fire at the power inputs, not really concerned about jl anymore, if i want sq, ill just turn it down
