JL 300/4 setting advice

Could anyone tell me some good starting points for setting the settings on this amp for front and rears? I have the gain set with a 1KHz sine wave to 17.3 volts as stated in the manual. I have this running 2 front and 2 rear speakers. I have it set on HP now with 24db front and 12db selected for the rears. Can someone tell me how you have yours set up or any help would be sweet. This is the last tweek to the sons system and then we are done. Will be finishing the 1/0 new run for power to the rear this weekend and the new fuse holders are going to be here this week.
