JL 13w6v2 vs RE SE 15"

I don't disagree with that. It's just that when go with a bigger sub, they become less efficient without additional power. Add to that the recovery time from the cone and you can introduce distortion more easily. Today's subwoofers aren't very efficient, I came from the heydays of car audio in the late 80's & early 90's when a sub could be ran with a 150 watt amp.LOL Today's subs hit harder, have more excursion, and just require much more power.
but since the 80's technology has peaked, and what used to be loud then, can be compared to a single 8" now

I do disagree on the efficiency & distortion part though

Run either sub, they will both sound good. For my money, sponsorship loyalty, previous reliability, sound quality, and a dozen other more reasons I went with the JL sub. YMMV

Doesn't mean I didn't buy/ test a lot of stuff

I have been buying amps subs etc... for experimental resons since I was 15

I have tested a lot of old school stuff from the 90's.

re se imhou will have more cone area and in a sealed box it will sound pretty good.

80
cone area doesn't stand for better SQ.

I don't want it to just sound good, I want it to be AMAZING!

I've used both...extensively.

The SE is a better sub IMO. It sounds better, is just as versatile in any enclosure, handles a lot more power, take a LOT more abuse, and is usually cheaper.

I have 2 SE 10's in my truck wired to .7 on a strapped pair of 20.1's right now. I dont think a pair of W6's would stand a chance in there.

How much power you do you think you're throwing at 'em?

I'm just comparing 13.5"w6 to 15"RE

In case of enclosure they will be at optium, so that isn't a factor, and power handling will be 500 rms to each woofer, I'm not looknig to run any more

as far as cheaper/ pricer I stated I had the Jl and the RE's so these factors is not an injuding role

I'm looking for people who have used the particular size & what their thoughts on it are.

I heard a 12w6v2 next to a 12 RE SE, IMO w6

but the 10" RE SE was better then the 10 w6v2, IMO RE SE

now it's down to this and IDK.

I don't wanna fiberglass 2 boxes

How much power you do you think you're throwing at 'em?
JL 500/1 to each as stated in originall post

I wish i could voice my opinion, haven't heard either, but I just ordered a 13w6v2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
