I've got a tough choice to make for my daily driver...

No matter what I chooze, it's going to be sealed.

For SQ reasons.

I just can't decide wether or not to go with my 13.5" w6v2s or my 15" RE SE's

SO FAR:

JL: 5

RE: 5

FYI, each sub is going to be individually chambered, (fiberglassed) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, and painted to match color of car for a very sexy look.

Each sub will be powered by a JL 500/1

I'd make a poll but it's not working so just say what you think

BTW SPECS for 13w6v2:

btw I have both subs.

So IDK, I do however have all other amps JL, so maybe just match it up?

IDK

Very undecided atm. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

well ive only heard 2 13w7s off 2 jl 1000s, and i was nothing but impressed with the SQ and how loud they get and the 13w6 have even better SQ then the W7s so id do jl, and just because to match up the JL equipment lol

never heard the SE, but i've heard the w6v2 and they're beastly subs. I say go with the JL since you already have it.
Thanks for the input, I had one 13w6v2 and I was very impressed with it, but I also heard a lot of good about the RE SE's so I ended up buying them localy.

But now when it got down to me making a choice, I'm stuck with my thumb in my arse. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

w6v2/tw5 Is the best lineup JL has to offer, IMO

thx for the input //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

moar opinions plz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I like the SE personally. I think they sound great and you can get them pretty cheap.
I already have both subs, the JL's and the RE's

so I'm not worried about that

Have you ever heard a JL 13w6v2?

I have a JL 13w6v2 in a sealed cabinet, downfiring in the club cab of my truck. It is powered by a 500/1v2 amp. This is absolutely a wonderful SQ setup, as is most subs in the W6v2 line up from JL. I have no experience with the RE sub. But I can't imagine a 15" sub being a better choice for SQ. Even the 12w6v2 is probably a better choice for SQ, but the 13w6v2 does have a little lower extension, which is why I opted for that. It's a gamble in a SQ setup, but I feel it's worked out especially in a sealed cabinet.

Yes, this is why I also chooze the 13w6v2 over the 12"

69% more air & a few hz lower.

the size of the sub won't hurt the SQ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

x2 on that

I think an 18" FI Q I heard was pretty dam good.

just cuz its big don't mean it can't sound good

thx

I don't disagree with that. It's just that when go with a bigger sub, they become less efficient without additional power. Add to that the recovery time from the cone and you can introduce distortion more easily. Today's subwoofers aren't very efficient, I came from the heydays of car audio in the late 80's & early 90's when a sub could be ran with a 150 watt amp.LOL Today's subs hit harder, have more excursion, and just require much more power.
