Jl 13w6v2 custom box (30hz)

Hi, im a newbie on these forums. I have a jl audio 13w7, jl 6.5 inch xr's, jl 500/1 amp and an eclipse 5425e, i will soon have an eq and a 2-chanell amp fo rthe front's. I am installing this equipment into a volkswagen mk1 golf (Rabbit) and i am ready to construct for this car a box for my 13w6v2.

I have talked to my local audio dealer and they will not give me any advice on the sub-box as i didnt buy it from them. I am going to construct the box out of 1 inch mdf and put in plenty of bracing in varying spacings. My problem is i dont think the advised slot-port box design with my manual is adequate, i think the box is too small however i might be wrong.

I want to tune the box for 30 hz as i genuinely do listen to alot of music which extends that low, and lower. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the construction of this box as i have looked at fomulas and programs and tbh i dont have a clue what they are about. Can i simply lengthen or shorten the prescribed slot port for 30hz? Any advice appreciated

Making the port longer, while keeping the area the same and the box size the same, will lower tuning.

I'm not sure what jl recommends and have no clue what the w7 likes, so I can't help there.

30hz is grate sql that what i have ported.Make a good big box if going ported
