The JL is that much better

In my honest opinion, the R wont get any louder, and if it does not much louder.

JL will absolutely anihilate it in SQ.

i have a type R i just put in a 2.15cf box and it gets pretty loud but the one 12w6v2 i have in my sealed box blows it away in SQ.

I own the type R's and they are not bad for the price. If I had the money though, I would pick up a couple of those. Or better yet that IDMax in Aryton's sig looks tasty. I need a laptop though.

well depends on how you like your music. the type r is a bit more on the spl side while the jl w3 is mainly an sq sub. w3 can get loud though. but if you are looking into more sq, jl definately.

i got 2 w6v2's and they pound hard and SQ is amazing! Now if i can get my hands on a more powerfull alternator i will be ok.
