JL 12W1v2-4 vs Alpine Type S?

I'm just looking to do a simple set up, my budget is $200 for 2 12" subs. I'm looking to get new subs because I blew one of my P2's the other day.

I've heard Alpine subs before, and was impressed with the SQ, and bass they put out.

I have never heard JL subs up close, in person.

The JL have a big advantage right away because I can run my amp at 4-ohms to power them, the Alpine are DVC. I have an older car, with an older alternator.

In terms of Sound Quality, which would be better? The 12W1v2-4 or the Type S?

In terms of pure bass, which would be better? The 12W1v2-4 or the Type S?

Also, if it matters, my amp is an Audiobahn A8002T (or Audiobomb, like some of you call them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif ), and my box is a Type 3 ported.

I don't want a Type R, I wasn't impressed with the SQ they put out.

Plus, I already have that box, I want to use it.

Im not sure how much power you have, but I have a single 12W1v2 running off of about 150watts or so in a sealed box. It has excellent sq and gets loud enough for me. I heard a type S at CC awhile back and it wasnt bad at all......I dont think you can go wrong with either. I just happen to like how low JL subs go myself.
