JL 10W3 vs 10W3V2 ??

Ok, I'm pretty much a novice at this.

After listening to as many subs as I could I settled on JL 10W3s because after listening to them in a friends car they sounded really good to my ears.

After browsing around on the internet I notice some places carry a 10W3 and some are carrying a 10W3V2.

The only difference I can find is 50W of power handling and $30 in price.

Is the V2 gonna sound better, louder, both or what? Is it worth the extra $100 or so dollars that it would cost to go with 3 10W3V2 over the 10W3?

The 8W3v2, 10W3v2, and 12W3v2 are all the 2002-2003 versions of the W3. Anything listed as 8W3, 10W3, or 12W3 is model year 2001 or older ...

So other than being last years model and the 50W of power handling is there any other real difference between them?

If there isn't I'll go with the 10W3 and I can save a little cash there and on the amp because I can go with a smaller amp.

If the 10W3V2s would sound better or something I'll go ahead and spend the extra and get them.

I guess thats what I'm really asking is are the newer subs worth the extra money I'll have to spend?

I tracked down the specs for both after you told me one was older but I didn't have much of a clue what a lot of the numbers meant.

i have two 12w3-d4s (2001 yr) and i'm running them in a sealed box (s*tty prefab) with 160~ rms each...and they sound nice and clear and they beat pretty good considering they're underpowered. Now i have a friend who HAD (they got stolen!!!) two 10w3-v2s and he was powering them with about 350~ rms, and well they didnt beat ALL that much harder considering the power dif. I did, however, notice more distortion, which is probably due to the fact that they were getting more than the rec. RMS....

ok, well this reply got kinda long on me, but yeh the older w3s are really nice speakers (contrary to what people will say!) they're just kinda pricey...i dont think u will be dissapointed
