JL 1000/1 Amp

Someone is selling me his JL 1000/1 Amp for $250. Is that a good deal? He's just giving me the amp so there is no boxes or anything. I don't really have a way of testing it but i'm assuming it works because if it doesn't I know where he lives and I could take back much more than $250. Is there a real big difference between the JL 1000/1 and the 1000/1v2? I'm thinking about getting 2 w6's and hooking it up to those or maybe just reselling it for like $500. Thanks in advance.

Good price and i don't think there much difference than the v2 and the w6v2 sound good off of it.
