hi

im going to take the time and make a log for my first solo fiberglass build, its my first time glassing without help of a shop pro. i've helped out with glassing around the local shop, but just laying down mat and punching it with resin, so thats the bulk of my own glassing experience lol, UNTIL NOW!!

its for 2 Mpyre 7" mids per door.

anyways, here are pics, finished this passenger side pod buildup 2 days ago

cutting up virgin doors

put plastic epoxy down, than resined over it quick and matted the area up, creating a stiff backside enclosure that'll be fully sealed when everything is done.

after last layer of mat (2-4 layers all around)

my friend will be doing the sanding and finishing work on them,

That looks like a LOT of resin on there in the last pic. Have fun with sanding/body filling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i screwed up a lil around here and had to cut and seam to avoid a big overlapped crease

i now hate fleece, wont be using it anymore myself in the future, should of borrowed some of this lycra material they use at the shop

Rabbet an edge into the outside of the baffle... staple the fleece into that edge... then after the resin starts to gel slice if off right above the edge.

Then you have a clean baffle to mount to. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Nice mids //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yeah i know thats wut i should of done, but i didnt, and so now the baffle needs to be sanded to be plane leveled all around, thats gonna **** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

yeah the mids are sick! i had two in my doors and they could play near sub duty!

Shouldn't have made them sealed, thats way to small for 2 7s.
obviously the airspace is not ideal, but it is larger than it looks in the pics, the cutout map pocket is recessed into the jeep doors deep, so the pods are around 9-10 inches deep

Be sure to see the sub specs. It should tell you the ideal sealed enclosure size.
