So around may of last year I went to the local shop to purchase some subwoofers. At the time I had a pair of Memphis Pr 12's. I had been looking around for a good amount of time and finally had made up my mind that I liked the sound and power of the JBL Power Series 12's. I purchased the subwoofers and the JBL GTO 1201.1 amplifier. After about 2 weeks the subs where stole, but the amp which was hidden in the car was not taken. My insurance company reimbursed everything that was taken, but the catch was they had to be installed by American Tv and Appliance. Ever since then about every 3-4 weeks the subs blow and I have to take them back to American Tv and Appliance and have them send them in and that takes 3-4 weeks. The subs are rated at 600 watts RMS and the amp is set at a mid power range with no bass boost set at all. I am sick of having to do that and either would like to know if I just bought shitty subs or if I'm missing something here. I hooked up the Memphis Pr's and let them run for about a week on the amp and they ran fine and the same exact setup. Should I try a different brand? or should I just go back to the Memphis Pr's? I have discussed this with a lot of my friends that do the car audio scene and they all say its your choice, and don't want to give a lot of advice or help. I can't order stuff off line since I have no credit or debit card so I need something that I can get a hold of around my area. (Memphis, JBL, Boston, Kicker, Alpine, and Rockford Fosgate)

I have the P1222 which is a duel 2 sub, but when I go to the garage to work tomorrow I shall look at the box to make sure and the GTO 1201.1 is wired to the sub at 2ohm. I believe that is right.

Buy used woofers from a creditable member of the forums. Money orders are welcomed by most.

I say check your wiring, I think that they're idiots.

the wiring is good, i had another local shop that ive done work for and have done alot of business with check it out. They say the job is done right.
