hey guys. im trying to pick out some new subs. i was set on 2 fi.bl 12" but my car cant put out the power they need. ive looked all over and cant find any high amp alternators for my car (buick rendezvous) so im downgrading. i want a sub that has good SQ but gets plenty loud (gotta show up my friends)

ive been looking at kicker l5, mb quart, alpine type r, diamond audio d6. ive been looking around on here (using the search field) and found that the kickers are all spl no sq. mb quarts all sq no spl. type r seems to be in the middle. but i just cant decide. im hoping you guys can help me out.

i want them to be under 7" mounting depth. around 600rms (hifonics bxi 2006d). i probably have enough space to use a 5cuft box maybe a little more. i know this might sound stupid but i would really like to be able to do the hair trick //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Just because your amplifier output and driver handling don't match doesn't mean you should completely abandon things. If your initial plan was to get the Fi units, stick to it. Adjust your gains to match your output of 600 watts and call it a day.

ya but a sub that takes over 1000w rms and only giving it 600? i heard they really dont perform well underpowered. at least not THAT underpowered.

Get in touch w/ Ohio Gen. They should be able to get you the alt. you need. Hell, They got me one for a Geo Metro

How about some Image Dynamics ID Series 12's, get loud and low and have excellent SQ, don't need a huge box, and are shallow mounting depth, $150 shipped. Or maybe a pair of Dayton HO 12's. Also pretty reasonably priced and get great reviews. Another one would be an RE SE 12. Can't go too wrong with any of these although I would watch the gains on the IDs...

IDQ's are pretty good, IMOP. What about some RE Audio SE's ?
