I don't anything about JBL and where they stand but he also said the box was made to spec's. maybe i should just go over and check them out?

Those aren't GTI's. He's saying to get a GTI. Very nice sub.

if those are loud and clear series i would pass... if they are are the gt series they may be worth that.. my buddy has had a 1241d since we were in high school (10 yrs) and it still bumps

The only JBL subs worht getting are the GTi's and older GTO's from a few years back.
